Joey Latino

Paediatric Resident

Smile Honouree

The most fulfilling part of Joey’s job as a paediatric resident is his daily interaction with the people he meets. He enjoys connecting with patients and their families and is moved when families continue to keep in touch.

Often families are scared and anxious when he meets them. His approach when interacting with them is simple. “Even a relatively minor medical illness can be very difficult for a family because it is happening to their child. It is my duty to be there to reassure and provide them with the perspective and support that they need.”
